Description :
You will be a part of the production team, but working solo or with one other associate often, that is required to engage in the production and packaging of chocolate-based confectionary products.
Job duties of a Metal Detection Operator include :
- Attention to detail is key!
- Following the Metal Detection Critical Control Point Program precisely, which includes understanding, reading, writing and speaking English.
- Reporting directly to the SQF Practitioner.
- Completing continuous training and certification regularly.
- General Production & Packing when not metal detection is responsibility is not available : Product management, Molding and demolding, Topping and drizzling, Cleaning and sanitizing, Packing, box assembly and finished product palletization. Ensuring all packages are correctly sealed and labeled, proper date coding
- As well as other duties, as assigned by Line Lead or Managers / Supervisors
Training and oversight is provided for all job duties.
Job Duties of Sanitation :
Supports General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, 3rd party audit as well as Internal Audits and Product Quality always.Maintain floor cleanliness by using brooms, mops, shop vac and floor scrubbers to remove dust, debris, spill, and trash.Operate power jacks to maneuver products and pallets for deep cleaning of areas behind racks and under palletsFollow Sanitation Master Sanitation ScheduleFollow Safety Data Sheet for proper use and storage of chemicals and cleaning materials; apply knowledge of chemical and cleaning products for safe use of materials including application and use of appropriate personal protective equipmentPerform Chemical Titrations and record results.Perform / Track chemical usage logging.Perform pre-work inspection of all sanitation tools, materials, and equipmentEmpty waste and recycled bins to consolidate materials for removal or bundlingLoad plastic and cardboard materials and waste into baler for compactionEmpty contents of portable trash dumpster into the large dumpsterIdentify areas in need of maintenance or cleaning based on visual inspectionFloor care maintenance- upkeep of floor care by using floor cleaning equipment such as automatic walk behind floor scrubber, the use of a mop & bucket method, daily sweeping of the facility floors.Production Floor Care Maintenance : Daily Care§ All production lines must be swept / picked up on a continuous rotation throughout the day.
§ Sweep under / around lines
§ All production area white boarders mopped
§ Remove hard stains / blemishes / build up from the floor
§ A deep machine scrub is required
§ Remove all garbage from trash receptacles when full
§ Removing of spilled chocolate (as needed or occurs)
§ Clean down rodent traps as needed.

Must have food manufacturing sanitation experience. Must be able to work independent with little supervision, must have the ability to operate / maintain automatic floor scrubber (floor care exp.) / floor equipment, mechanically incline, problem solving skills, attention to detail, organizational skills.

The employee must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience as a forklift operator is preferred, and employee must be able to be certified forklift operator within 90 days of hire.
Work Environment #1 :
The work environment is indoors and outdoors. The employee is sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions when cleaning exterior open docks. The employee may be exposed to variable temperatures in different climate zones of the facility. The employee will be dealing with water, soap (cleaning chemicals), chocolate debris

Work Hours : The work schedule is 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Start time is at 8am. Start time and end time may change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays, or weekends.
Training and oversight is provided for all job duties.
