Job description

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will also support doctors, other members of the healthcare team, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, communication, and by performing a variety of patient care procedures within the specific scope of practice.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports
  • Maintain and update patient EMR
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Patient care

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in patient management software
  • Able to multi-task
  • Able to Type 40 WPM
  • Able to work individually and part of a team
  • Self Starter
