Job description

Auto Mechanic Upstate Auto Service & Body Works in Saranac Lake has been serving Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Lake Placid, Plattsburgh, Malone NY and the surrounding areas, since 1954. We are looking for a skilled and experienced candidate as an Auto Mechanic to join our service team. We offer a well lit and clean work environment.

Job Overview :

As an Auto Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing customer vehicles. We are currently seeking a candidate with a higher level of skills and abilities. However, we will consider a candidate with basic skills with the desire to learn and excel. We offer continual technical training in every aspect of automotive repair. Responsibilities :

  • Read repair order to determine the customer concern.
  • Initiate the repair with a test drive and / or visual inspection to determine the cause of the concern.
  • Once the concern has been correctly identified, proceed to Repair or replace broken and damaged part.
  • After the repair has been completed, a test drive must done to verify that the concern has been corrected.
  • Provide complete preventive maintenance work such as replacing filters, oil change, wheel bal- ancing, and engine tune-ups.
  • Maintain and repair vehicles using computerized diagnostic.
  • Maintain a neat work space.
  • Maintain proper personal hygiene.

Requirements :

  • Must own appropriate tools.
  • High school diploma or Vocational institute certification.
  • A valid Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic components of vehicles.
  • Positive, Professional attitude.
  • Strong mechanic skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Dependable.
  • Punctual.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.
