American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Labor & Delivery position requiring a NE or compact RN license and strong L&D clinical skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital setting on a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) unit with 15 LDRP bedsCare for obstetric, postpartum, antepartum, post-surgical GYN, and high-risk pregnancy patients, including those with hypertension or diabetesTypical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3 and 1 : 1 for laboring patients, following AWHONN guidelinesRNs are required to titrate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and ProcardiaNo floating required except in rare critical staffing situations, limited to sitting or tasksUses EPIC for electronic medical recordsNight shifts, 12-hour shifts (6 : 45pm–7 : 15am), scheduled by managerEvery other weekend required and holiday coverage as neededDeliver care to a patient population of approximately 400 births per yearUnit does not require RNs to manage respiratory equipment beyond troubleshootingCharge nurse present on each shift and may take an assignmentBlue Distinction+ designated, breastfeeding-friendly unit known for high patient experience scoresOne week of classroom orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the floor providedHoliday coverage may be required based on unit needUp to 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license in hand; pending licenses are not acceptedMinimum of 3 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience requiredCurrent BLS and NRP certifications requiredMust provide a copy of driver’s license for permanent address verificationTwo references required : one supervisor from the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsMust pass a 90% open book skills exam during orientation; failure results in terminationArtificial nails prohibited per patient care policyRNs cannot be current or recent employees (within 1 year) of CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilitiesMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility per radius rule\n Benefits\n
