As an ABEC Mechanical Technician you will assemble and / or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety or tools and equipment according to required specifications, instructions and blue prints in a fast-paced environment on industry leading equipment This role may include work in a Cleanroom environment as well. Manufacturing Technicians will take part in an exciting and robust TRAINING PROGRAM at other ABEC location(s). Successful candidates need a winning attitude, great energy, and desire to learn and grow with ABEC!
Responsibilities :
Fabricate equipment accurately and with proper procedures in a timely mannerStrong attention to detail and accuracy in fabrication processUse of all types of hand tools, fabricating equipment, measuring devicesWork on stainless steel fabrication, including to but not limited to :Cutting tubeOperate hand grindersPolishingBendingAssemblyInstall and maintain utility / service linesAbility to carry out procedures in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Guidelines (GDLs)The candidate must understand fully the associated quality acceptance criteria and highlight anything that may not meet specification; first-time-right productAbility to compile all associated build documentation to an acceptable standard and in line with ABEC criteriaThe candidate must be willing to adhere to all associated standards and procedures associated with working in a classified clean environmentKnowledge of all types of hand tools, fabricating equipment, measuring devicesOperate overhead crane and / or forkliftConduct operations in a safe manner and be fully committed to maintaining a clean and safe working environmentExecute other tasks as assignedAbility to travel when requiredWill play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunityRequirements
Primary Requirements
1-2 years previous work experienceExperience working with hands with the use of hand tools and basic fabrication toolsAbility to read tape measure and perform simple mathematical equationsAptitude with blueprint readingProficient with the use of hand tools and basic fabrication toolsExcellent problem-solving skillsAble to lift a minimum of 50 lbs / 23 kilogramsPhysically capable of wearing protective body, eye, ear, and head gearAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull and carry itemsAbility to wear all personal protective equipment & cleanroom gowning equipmentSelf-motivatedMust be capable of maintaining a clean and safe working environmentTypical work is in a manufacturing environment and / or customer's siteAdditional Requirements (a plus but not required)
Trade qualification (Pipe fitter / Plumber / Mechanic)Experience working (welding & polishing) with Stainless SteelExperience working in a classified clean environmentExperience in producing documentation that is subject to quality and customer auditAwareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI)Prior Lean / Six Sigma experience
