Job description

Application Engineer (Electrical)

Arbin Instruments is seeking an Application Engineer (Electrical) to provide technical support and bridge the gap between customer needs and our engineering capabilities.

Position Overview

This role focuses on delivering end-user support throughout the sales and post-sales cycle, including troubleshooting, calibration, and training. The engineer will collect and analyze customer feedback, coordinate with the R&D team, and document solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct engineering tests and reproduce reported issues
  • Diagnose and repair electrical products, including troubleshooting and circuit analysis
  • Answer customer calls and emails, provide online training and real-time remote assistance
  • Perform onsite service such as calibration, troubleshooting, and system setup
  • Write technical documents : module assembly / testing instructions, troubleshooting procedures, engineering test reports, product white papers, product specifications
  • Collect customer feedback, summarize it, and relay findings to the R&D team
  • Support customers throughout the sales and post-sales process

Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform specific tests per customer's needs and evaluate system performance under different scenarios
  • Analyze root cause of issues and find corrective actions, escalating to engineering as necessary
  • Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other common equipment; solder components (SMT, through-hole)
  • Travel as required (25%–50%)
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and present via camera when needed
  • Required Qualifications

  • Basic Electrical Engineering knowledge, including component / circuit analysis; preference for Power System / Power Electronics experience
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit theory
  • Ability to read / write technical documents
  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • No minimum experience specified
  • Computer network knowledge is a plus
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Other Requirements

  • Ability to drive independently or take coast-to-coast flights if needed
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Work Environment

    Office, laboratory, facility, and on-site combined.

    Salary & Benefits

    Base pay range : $60,000 – $80,000 per year.
