Director of Accounting

My client is a law firm that has a great opportunity for someone looking for a role as the Director of Accounting for their organization which is based in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate selected for the Director of Accounting position will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department operations, supervising AP and AR specialists, assist with producing monthly reports, lead the month-end close process, reconcile various accounts, assist with audits providing necessary support schedules, support relevant tax issues, help with the annual budget and support the CFO with other duties as needed. Daily responsibilities of the Director of Accounting include:

· Lead team to complete month-end close.

· Provide various monthly reports.

· Assist with supporting schedules for audit.

· Oversee daily accounting procedures.

· Preparation of financial statements.

· Review various account reconciliations.

· Support tax issues.

The ideal Director of Accounting we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:

· 6+ years of relevant accounting experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

· Law firm or public accounting experience, preferred.

· CPA or Master’s degree, a plus.

· Capable of managing a team.

· Communicate effectively to leadership.
