The Field Service Manager reports to the Field Service Senior Manager. We will rely on you to successfully deliver and execute on Hach's field service contract and on-demand obligations. You will also be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing Field Service Technicians (FSTs), tracking business and operational trends, and enhancing the customer-Hach relationship.

This is a remote position that can be based in either the greater Houston, TX area or the greater Phoenix, AZ area. Several locations have been listed for marketing purposes, but only one position is available.

In this role, you will :

  • Engage in active performance management activities, including associate recognition, training, coaching, and discipline.
  • Evaluate associate skillsets, maintain skills matrix, identify and plan development and growth opportunities; build talent funnel.
  • Drive safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity initiatives. Track and analyze data to identify and respond to volumes, trends, and drivers.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships by making periodic contact / visits, exploring specific needs, resolving problems, and establishing service strategies.
  • Follow the environmental, health, and safety work policies of both Hach and the customer.
  • Review customer service contracts and adjust planned FST effort requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites and ride along with FSTs to evaluate performance, build relationships, and evaluate compliance with standard work.

The essential requirements of the job include :

  • HS Diploma required; Associates / technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics / repair is helpful but not required.
  • 2 or more years of field service experience and / or customer-facing roles preferred.
  • This position requires occasional rental of vehicles or booking of hotel rooms for business travel. A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to rent a car and / or hotel rooms under applicable state law are required.
  • Travel Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3 or more years of experience in a leadership role with key responsibilities focused on hiring, associate development, performance management, and accountability to achieving business objectives
  • 3 or more years of experience working in field service, technical service, and / or customer-focused role
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
  • Background with ServiceMax or Salesforce, including report development, data input, data analysis, and dashboard creation, preferred
  • A driver's License and an acceptable driving record in compliance with Hach policy is required
  • The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
