Job descriptionLead the Future of Environmental Compliance Why This Role Matters You’ll be the cornerstone of ERM’s Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation team, guiding clients through Colorado-specific and federal regulatory landscapes. Your expertise will ensure environmental impact prevention strategies that protect communities, ecosystems, and business continuity. What Your Impact Is Drive technical leadership and strategic direction for investigation and remediation projects. Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients and regulatory agencies. Mentor junior consultants and accelerate ERM’s growth in Colorado and nationally. Champion innovative solutions that move sites toward closure efficiently and responsibly. What You’ll Bring Required 10+ years of progressive experience in site investigation and remediation under Colorado-specific and federal programs (RCRA, CDPHE, ECMC). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Strong safety mindset and adherence to health and safety protocols. Driver's License Required : This position requires a valid driver's license and / or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area. Preferred Experience negotiating remedial solutions using innovative technologies. Established relationships with Colorado regulatory agencies. Business development experience and ability to generate repeat client engagements. Key Responsibilities Serve as ERM’s ECMC Subject Matter Expert for soil, groundwater, and sediment remediation. Design and negotiate remedial strategies using both traditional and emerging technologies. Engage with local, state, and federal regulators to ensure compliance and foster collaboration. Prepare technical reports, proposals, and lead client presentations. Drive business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships. Mentor junior consultants and delegate project tasks effectively. Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate innovative approaches into project delivery. Lead planning for site closure and progress projects toward regulatory completion.For the Principal Consultant, Regulatory Strategy Advisor (Oil & Gas) - Colorado position, the anticipated annual base pay is $122,612 - $156,352 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term / flex force employees are not bonus eligible).We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP / DPSP, and other applicable benefits to eligible employees. Note : Bonuses, commissions, and other forms of additional compensation are not guaranteed and subject to the sole discretion of ERM and its policies and procedures.For the Site Investigation and Remediation Lead (Subject Matter Expert) position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $122,612 - $156,352 (USD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.
