Job Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax accounting and financial services, with the ability to provide expert guidance on tax-related matters. This role requires a understanding of financial concepts, regulatory reporting, and estate planning. The Tax Advisor will work closely with clients to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities for tax savings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on tax planning and compliance for individuals and businesses.
  • Assist clients with estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law matters.
  • Conduct thorough audits of financial statements and records to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with clients on mergers & acquisitions, providing guidance on tax implications.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation and regulations.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
  • Support clients in public accounting practices, including accounts payable and bookkeeping.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tax accounting or public accounting is essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger accounting.
  • Familiarity with estate planning strategies and securities law is preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial software such as Quicken or other accounting tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports.
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Strong communication skills for effective client interactions and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
