IT Systems Architect-Manufacturing

Memphis, Tennessee / relocation paid / hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Manufacturing Systems Architect. This role is critical in shaping the manufacturing IT

strategy, designing and implementing solutions that enhance scalability, security, and efficiency across enterprise-wide manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manage end-to-end IT architecture for manufacturing plants, including IT-OT systems, security, shop floor connectivity,

and enterprise integration.

  • Align manufacturing IT architecture with corporate IT strategy in collaboration with the Enterprise Architect.
  • Develop and maintain current and future state architecture documentation.
  • Lead digital manufacturing initiatives focused on IIoT, Industry 4.0, and AI / ML solutions.
  • Manage proof-of-concept projects, evaluating emerging technologies and vendors.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable architectural solutions in collaboration with senior leadership and SMEs.
  • Oversee cross-domain manufacturing IT initiatives, resolving inter-project architectural challenges.
  • Drive Manufacturing IT governance, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with industry standards.

    • Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience as an IT Manufacturing Systems Architect.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing IT systems.
  • 5+ years implementing SCADA & PLC platforms.
  • Proven experience with IT-OT integration, OT cybersecurity, and IIoT implementations.
  • Strong background in MES & ERP system integration.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, including TOGAF and Zachman.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), virtualization, and application modernization.
  • Working knowledge of EA tools (System Architect, Troux, or similar).
  • Experience working with C-level executives, presenting technical solutions, and building business cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive consensus on architecture decisions.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and lead digital transformation efforts.
