Job Title : Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech Profession : Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty : Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 1 year License : NY license required Certifications : BLS, RPSGT Must-Have : - Independent Lab experience - Baseline Sleep Polysomnography - Knowledge of various mask types including Full Face, Nasal Mask, and Nasal Pillow - Proficient in ECG, EEG, End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, and O2 Saturation - Experience with Periodic Limb Movement (PLM) and PSG scoring - Understanding of respiratory events, sleep stages, and transient arousals - Infection control and patient education experience Description : The position involves monitoring patients during sleep studies. Responsibilities include conducting sleep polysomnography and scoring results. The ideal candidate will have experience in a sleep lab setting. This role will require working night shifts on a 3x12 hour schedule. There is a patient ratio of 1 : 2. The laboratory uses specific software for monitoring. Documentation will be done using an electronic medical records system. The candidate should be able to educate patients about procedures and results. Weekend work will be required every other week. The lab has a set number of beds for patient studies. Daily census ranges from 2 to 4 patients. Candidates may be required to float as needed between different areas.
