Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a WA or compact license and prior travel nursing assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in the Labor and Delivery unit of a short-term acute care Level II Trauma Center
  • Care for patients with over 300 births per month, including a variety of delivery procedures
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Floating to other units within scope may be required to meet facility needs
  • Patient ratios and weekend requirements will be determined by the facility
  • Epic EMR with required experience, and use of OBIX / Stork charting
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Responsibilities include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&Cs, postpartum tubal ligations, inductions, cervical ripening, antepartum observations, management of placental abnormalities, triage, fetal surveillance, IV hydration, and cerclage procedures
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Parking is free in the employee lot
  • Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly on Mondays
  • Modules are not required for this assignment
  • First-time travelers are accepted for consideration
  • All time off requests must be included prior to contract signing
  • Holiday shift coverage may be required depending on unit needs

    • Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license, or proof of application at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience, or 1 year L&D plus mother / baby experience
  • At least two completed travel nursing assignments required
  • Current certifications as required for L&D in WA
  • One year of Epic experience required
  • Ability to start and maintain peripheral IVs
  • Fully vaccinated status required
  • Not open to local candidates (must live outside a 60-mile radius)
  • No more than one DUI on record
  • Return travelers must have at least a one-year separation from previous employment with the health system
