TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified NICU RN in Charleston, South Carolina, 29425!

Pay Information

$1,837 per week

About The Position

Job Title : NICU Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : Night 3x12-Hour

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience : Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience preferred, Level III NICU experience accepted on a case-by-case basis

License : South Carolina or Multi-State / Compact State RN License required

Certifications : BLS, NRP required

Must-Have :

  • Experience with neonates < 24-28 weeks
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Placement and management of oral / nasogastric / nasojejunal tubes
  • Isolation precautions
  • Arterial line management
  • Central line and implanted line care
  • Umbilical artery catheter (UAC) and umbilical vein catheter (UVC) knowledge
  • IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
  • Neonatal abstinence syndrome management
  • Ventilator management (AC / PC / SIMV / CPAP / BIPAP / PEEP)

Description :

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit provides specialized care to premature and critically ill neonates.

It is a regional referral center that offers medical and surgical interventions.

Common diagnoses include prematurity, respiratory distress, and surgical conditions.

The unit provides respiratory and nutritional support, ECMO / CRRT, and surgical assistance.

Pediatric palliative care is available as needed.

All beds are monitored, and individualized, goal-directed patient care is delivered.

Registered Nurses work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Weekend shifts are required as part of the schedule.

Float assignments within the scope are expected to meet facility needs.

Ratios depend on patient acuity and can range from 1 : 2 to 1 : 4.

RTO must be provided prior to submission, and scheduling is subject to approval based on unit needs.

Travelers should be aware of potential emergency response assignments during hurricane season.
