Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) II performs patient care activities, including but not limited to identifying and responding to abnormal findings, appropriately escalating changes in the patient’s condition to the nurse, and activities of daily living (ADL’s). The PCT II provides assistance with patient elimination, hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition, and progress activity and practices patient and family centered care. This role typically reports to the Unit Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education : ( None)

Licenses / Certifications :   Certified in Basic Life Support issued by (AHA) American Heart Association required before hire

Experience / Knowledge / Skills :

• Two (2) years of prior patient care experience (e.g. Certified Nursing Assistant, or Patient Care Technician) or similar role required in an acute care setting.
• Proficiency in all Core Competencies of the PCT I and II position as noted in Memorial Hermann’s PCT Competency Based Tool and as validated by Memorial Hermann Clinical Education no later than the end of orientation.
