Commercial Lines Account Manager | Commercial Insurance Client Service Manager

About the Role
A well-established independent insurance agency in Brighton, Michigan is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join its growing team. This role is ideal for an insurance professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing renewals, and delivering high-quality service to business clients within the Professional Services market, including but not limited to : Architects and Engineers, Law / Legal, CPAs, Finance, and Tech firms.
As a key member of the service team, you’ll partner closely with producers and carriers to manage a diverse book of small to mid-market accounts while ensuring clients receive timely, accurate, and consultative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of assigned commercial lines accounts, including renewals, policy changes, billing, and claims coordination.
- Provide expert guidance to clients on coverage options, risk exposures, and policy recommendations.
- Prepare renewal proposals and market accounts to carriers to secure competitive and comprehensive coverage solutions.
- Maintain strong carrier relationships and negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage enhancements.
- Collaborate with producers to identify cross-selling opportunities and support new business efforts.
- Ensure all client and policy data is accurately maintained in the agency management system (EPIC, AMS360, TAM, or similar).
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and deliver proactive service that drives retention and satisfaction.
Qualifications
3–7+ years of commercial lines experience in an independent agency or brokerage environment.Active Michigan Property & Casualty license required.Strong knowledge of commercial coverage lines including general liability, property, auto, workers’ compensation, and umbrella.Proficiency with agency management systems - AMS360 preferred (EPIC, AMS360, TAM, or equivalent).Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.Professional designations such as CISR, CIC, or CPCU preferred or in progress.Compensation & Benefits
