Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in a baby-friendly LDRP unit with night shifts and Cerner charting required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a 19-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit
  • Patient population consists of laboring mothers, postpartum care, and newborns
  • Staffing ratio is 1 : 2
  • One designated triage room for labor patients
  • Charting is completed in Cerner; Cerner experience is required
  • Night shift schedule : three 12-hour shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Call required as needed
  • Floating may occur within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on census
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travelers will complete pre-start modules averaging 3-8 hours
  • Professional conduct standards are strictly enforced and incidents may result in immediate contract termination
  • Maximum of 10 days of requested time off allowed; if RTO falls during holidays, must work at least one of the three holidays
  • Team includes a charge RN dedicated to managing triage and supporting incoming labor patients

    • Requirements

  • Active MI RN license, or willingness to participate in licensure process
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required
  • Current certifications must be obtained prior to start; pending certifications accepted
  • Cerner charting experience required
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates)
  • Completion of up to 8 hours of pre-assignment online modules within one week of signing
  • Return staff must have a 3-year gap before returning as a traveler
