Nursing Assistant Opportunity

Sanford Health is looking for nursing assistants to join its dedicated team of caregivers. This position is available at Black Hills Surg Hosp, located in Rapid City, SD. The shift is for 12 hours during the night, and the job schedule is PRN with varying weekly hours. The salary range is $18.00 - $23.00.

We are seeking a certified nursing assistant who is available to pick up night shifts with our Recovery Care Center Team. The schedule includes night shifts from 6 : 30PM to 7 : 00AM. The role involves assisting with hygiene, post-op vitals, bladder scans, charting, and more.

The nursing assistant will provide patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN), and is essential to keeping the unit functioning smoothly. Responsibilities include providing assistance with basic health care needs, recording vital statistics, assisting with patient transfers and ambulation, performing clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare, preparing and cleaning patient treatment areas, living areas, and medical equipment, and disposing of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.

Qualifications are a high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. A certified nursing assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications. If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a certified nursing assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training / competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment.
