Job descriptionHigh School Diploma required. Candidates with an Associates or higher in Education or Social Work are encouraged to apply. Three years’ experience in youth program supervision and / or administration. Experience in program development for youth. Must be able to engage in crisis-intervention activities and demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities. Strong communication, organizational skills. Team Player and Approachability. Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and / or youth development perspective. Ability to work occasional weekends / late evenings.

Title : Assistant Program Director, Monterey Cornerstone Community Center
Reports to : Senior Program Director, Monterey Cornerstone Community Center
Location : 2100 Monterey Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457
Hours : 35 Hours / Week; Non-Exempt
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000 / year
Job Summary : The Assistant Program Director at Monterey is responsible for assisting the Senior Program Director in the development and management of daily programming for the Monterey Cornerstone Community Center.
Major Duties :
- Conduct overall leadership and implementation of After School programming.
- Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures.
- Plan, direct and supervise the Summer Camp Program
- Supervise GSS Volunteers, Program Aides, Group Leaders and Youth Interns.
- Monitor attendance, complete reports and document and report all incidents.
- Work with the police department for program security and crisis intervention.
- Responsible for staff recruitment for the after school and summer programs.
- Oversee client referrals to other programs as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
