Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - 3x12 Day Shift Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This is a 13-week contract position. Responsibilities Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans. Identify patient teaching needs and set goals in collaboration with patients / families and the interdisciplinary team. Provide timely patient information for Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the medical record. Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process. Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge. Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety. Provide supervision and training to ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately. Promote personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Contribute positively to team dynamics and participate in team-building activities. Communicate service needs effectively to management and nursing staff. Assume charge responsibility upon request after orientation. Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure BLS Certification required prior to first shift. ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific to certain units).
