The Business Application Analyst II is responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing key business applications used across Keck Medicine of USC. These applications include Lawson Financials, Lawson Supply Chain, Kronos Timekeeping and Scheduling, Kronos Extensions (Optilink), Kaufman Hall Budgeting & Planning, and Strata Decision Support Solution (DSS).
Under minimal supervision, the analyst collaborates with stakeholdersincluding system owners, vendors, and IT leadershipto understand business needs and translate them into system solutions that enhance workflow efficiency, data accuracy, and operational productivity.
This role emphasizes customer service, system maintenance, reporting and analytics, and project support, contributing to performance improvement and innovation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Administration
- Serve as application administrator for financial, HR, payroll, supply chain, or budgeting systems.
- Ensure data integrity, system uptime, and security configurations.
- Coordinate with vendors and users to manage upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting.
Solution Design & Implementation
Conduct needs assessments, gap analyses, and requirements gathering.Design and recommend system modifications to improve workflows and resolve inefficiencies.Act as a subject matter expert on assigned applications.Reports & Analytics
Develop and maintain custom and standard reports using tools like SQL, QlikView, Lawson BI, Infor BI, and Kronos Genies.Translate data into actionable insights for operational and executive stakeholders.Respond to support tickets, enhancement requests, and inquiries from internal departments.Provide excellent customer service with a focus on responsiveness, clarity, and professionalism.Performance Improvement & Innovation
Identify areas for improvement in business and technical workflows.Partner with business leaders to implement transformative or innovative solutions using technology.Manage small-to-mid-sized projects or workstreams independently.Collaborate across departments to ensure successful rollouts and user adoption.Track progress, timelines, and deliverables to meet project milestones.Training & Documentation
Train end-users and team members on system functionality.Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.Minimum Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related fieldOR 7 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of degreeExperience :
Minimum 3 years of relevant business application or healthcare IT experienceExperience with Kronos, Lawson, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Supply Chain / Finance / Payroll systems is strongly preferredFamiliarity with healthcare operations and workflows is a plusStrong technical troubleshooting, systems analysis, and workflow optimization skillsProficiency in SQL, report building, and dashboard toolsDeep understanding of business process mapping and application configurationAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesComfortable working independently and in cross-functional teamsUnderstanding of ITIL practices, system lifecycle methodologies, and security standards#J-18808-Ljbffr
