QA & Food Safety Manager

Location : Vernon, CA (Fully Onsite)

Reports to : CEO

Compensation : $95,000 – $105,000 base salary + bonus

Type : Direct Hire

A leading herbal and beverage manufacturer is seeking an experienced QA & Food Safety Manager to oversee all quality and regulatory programs within its production facility. This role leads a team of six, ensuring compliance with FDA, FSMA, HACCP, and SQF standards while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency across all products.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in QA and Food Safety within the food or beverage manufacturing industry, is bilingual in English and Spanish, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead all QA and Food Safety programs to maintain compliance with SQF, HACCP, FSMA, PCQI, and FDA regulations.

Manage regulatory documentation, traceability systems, customer portals

Oversee vendor compliance programs and conduct annual second-party audits, including international audits in Mexico.

Support product development, packaging approvals, ingredient review, and labeling accuracy.

Supervise and mentor a six-person team including QA Inspectors, a QC Specialist, and Sanitation staff.

Partner cross-functionally with Production, R&D, Sales, Purchasing, and Executive teams to ensure alignment on quality and safety standards.

Maintain readiness for GFSI and FDA inspections; lead internal and external audit preparation.

Develop and enhance quality systems, continuous improvement initiatives, and corrective action processes.

Ensure all packaging, labeling, and product claims comply with federal and international regulations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.

3–5+ years of QA and Food Safety experience within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.

HACCP certification (required) ,PCQI certification (required), SQF Practitioner certification (preferred but not mandatory day one).

Proven experience managing audits, vendor compliance, and regulatory documentation.

Strong ERP and digital compliance system experience

Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
