Your Daily Adventures as a Behavior Technician
Conduct 1 : 1 therapy with clientsFollow prescribed skill acquisition and behavior support plansCollect and record data, and write therapy notes for each sessionCommunicate with parents and caregivers regarding progress (with guidance from the BCBA)Assist the BCBA in preparing and organizing client materialsAttend required trainings to maintain knowledgeFollow BACB guidelinesWork toward becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) if not alreadyFoster a positive working environmentRequirements
Behavior Technician (RBT) Basic & Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry clients who weigh at least 30 poundsMust be willing and able to restrain / hold / transport and perform quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Support PlanMust be able to assume various postures for extended periodsMust be able to walk and run as needed to supervise clients while maintaining safety distanceMust be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periodsMust be able to attend to basic needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and dressingMust have manual dexterity for data collection and session documentationMust have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communicationMust be able to transfer data to electronic filesMust be able to work at a computer or on the floor for extended periodsMust be able to assemble, clean and maintain therapy spaceMust be able to administer medication to clientsJob Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasksDetail oriented and flexible to meet team and client needsProfessionalism and integrityPreferred Experience
