Responsibilities :
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment : Compares identifying information and counts, invoices, orders, or other recordsDetermines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and ratesAffixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipmentAssembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containersInserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective paddingPosts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postageUnpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortagesRoutes items to departmentsExamines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specificationsMaintains inventory of shipping materials and suppliesReceives all food and beverage deliveries and takes them to appropriate areasMaintains cleanliness in all food and beverage storerooms / coolers / freezersUtilizes FIFO food rotation when putting food awayQualifications :
High School Diploma / GED a plus but not requiredPrevious experience a plusMust have courteous phone skills and the ability to take accurate messagesThe company also conducts post-offer employment verifications, motor vehicle, and criminal background checks.
