Job Description : Senior Employment Law Attorney II at Sphinx Top

The Senior Employment Law Attorney II is a high-level attorney with 5+ years of law practice experience and a book of business. The successful candidate is self-directed, thrives with support and autonomy, and is expected to generate approximately 40% of their own billable work. They should be able to present at one event and participate in organizational leadership events. Attorneys have access to coaching, support services, and are part of a firm that prioritizes work-life balance, collaboration, and competitive incentives.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintain a successful record of mediation and trial experience.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Draft memorandums, briefs, letters, and legal documents.
  • Market services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery and due diligence in litigation preparation.
  • Communicate effectively and advocate passionately, including empathetic listening.
  • Manage schedules to meet production and collection goals, including outside hours as needed.
  • Approve invoices timely and ensure support staff are utilized effectively.
  • Update client and case management systems accurately.
  • Engage in personal and firm branding through blogs, social media, and participation in organizations.
  • Seek positive client feedback and reviews.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The attorney is expected to bill approximately 1500 hours annually, with collections on 1400 hours, working around 30 hours per week over 50 weeks.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, and legal research skills.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in the practicing state or eligibility for reciprocal admission.
  • At least 5 years of legal experience.
  • Equivalent experience and training may be considered.
  • Work Environment : Office-based with requirements to work weekends, holidays, and occasional travel. Punctual attendance is essential.
