Brief Job Description
Acuity Innovations is seeking a highly capable Solution Architect with strong expertise in Enterprise Architecture, digital modeling, and systems integration to support the design and delivery of advanced digital ecosystems for defense and space programs. This role bridges architectural design and technical realization, leveraging model-based and simulation-driven engineering approaches to ensure solutions are viable, interoperable, and aligned with mission outcomes.
The Solution Architect will lead the translation of complex mission requirements into structured enterprise architectures, enabling accurate and effective simulation, analysis, and validation of mission systems and digital environments. This position requires both strategic systems thinking and hands-on technical acumen to design, prototype, and optimize integrated solutions within digital ecosystems.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain enterprise and solution architectures that align with customer mission goals and program objectives.Use model-based techniques (e.g., SysML / UML in Cameo or similar tools) to architect, visualize, and communicate system designs.Integrate enterprise architecture artifacts with simulation environments to ensure traceable and validated system performance outcomes.Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and data modelers to translate architecture into executable capabilities and digital twins.Conduct architecture analysis and trade studies to optimize design and identify gaps or dependencies across mission systems.Provide technical leadership during system design reviews, integration planning, and digital ecosystem implementation.Leverage modeling and simulation outputs to inform system feasibility, performance analysis, and risk reduction.Support technical documentation, including architectural views, system specifications, and interface definitions.Stay current with emerging digital engineering, modeling, and simulation technologies to improve solution fidelity and delivery speed.Required Skills & Experiences
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.5+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture, systems engineering, or model-based systems design for defense or aerospace programs.Technical Skills
Proficiency in enterprise and solution architecture frameworks (DoDAF, TOGAF) and modeling tools (Cameo, Sparx EA, etc.).Experience developing model-based artifacts that inform simulation and mission analysis.Knowledge of system-of-systems integration and digital engineering ecosystems.Familiarity with distributed architectures, data integration, and interoperability standards.Understanding of simulation workflows, model validation, and test environments.Working knowledge of cybersecurity and compliance for digital environments.Soft Skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual design skills.Effective communicator capable of translating complex architectures for diverse technical and non-technical audiences.Collaborative team player with an ability to drive innovation and efficiency across disciplines.Preferred Skills & Experiences
Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.Experience supporting Space Development Agency (SDA), Space Force, or other DoD digital engineering programs.Hands-on experience integrating MBSE with simulation frameworks or digital twins.Knowledge of Agile development practices and DevSecOps toolchains.Familiarity with data analytics, AI / ML integration, and model-based verification methods.Clearance
