Our Applied Science practice leverages a unique combination of technologies and expertise to engineer practical solutions to problems of national and international importance. We apply expertise in solid and fluid dynamics, materials science, acoustics, risk assessments, and computational simulation methods to solve complex problems. We perform research, mathematical modeling, software development, and design to manage risks to life safety in military platforms and installations, ships and submarines, critical infrastructure, tall buildings, public facilities, industrial and petrochemical plants, and automotive and airborne vehicles. Military, government, corporate, and academic clients value the validation of Applied Science's software and the critical insights gained from correlating analysis with testing.

The Role

We have an opportunity for an engineer to join TT's Applied Science Practice. You will be a key technical contributor to our Critical Infrastructure and Defense team. You will work closely with our clients in public agencies and private entities, performing computer modelling, simulations and analysis to develop optimal designs that address real-world challenges. Peers and senior staff will work collaboratively with you in an intellectually challenging yet collegial environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake advanced analysis, research, and engineering design to address complex scientific and structural challenges, utilizing engineering computational software, such as finite element analysis (FEA), to assess structural performance under extreme loading events (e.g. blast, impact, fire, seismic, or other dynamic conditions).

Compensation

The rate for this position generally is $84,000 - $97,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
