Role Description
As a Field Technician at PSP, you will be integral to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our systems at client sites, both onshore and offshore. This role demands a solid technical understanding of process equipment & control systems within the oil & gas sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations (85-90% travel required), including offshore platforms and remote job sites.
- Work with a variety of combustion, dehydration, and control systems equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and automated systems.
- Manage field activities and oversee the implementation of engineering designs.
- Conduct regular field service reporting, documenting all procedures and findings.
- Ensure compliance with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental) protocols, including working in high, medium, and low-voltage environments.
- Interpret P&IDs, single-line drawings, electrical drawings and technical data to assist in field installations and repairs.
- Operate safely around high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery, adhering to site safety procedures.
- Provide training and technical support to clients during commissioning and post-installation.
- Diagnose & repair electrostatic transformers.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly and stand for extended periods.Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions and remote environments.Clear hearing for alarms, voices, and operational signals in the field.Ability to use hand tools.Opportunity for advancement is only limited by the candidate themselves.
Onsite training will be provided.
Qualifications
Solid understanding of oil & gas equipment, particularly combustion equipment, separators, and automation systems.Proficiency in PLC, HMI systems, and IT equipment related to field automation.Ability to work independently and handle tasks with minimal supervision.Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in documenting field service reports.Strong attention to detail.Experience with welding, fabrication, and assembly is an advantage.Experience using AutoCad is a plus.Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel extensively.Benefits
