Role Description : Executive Director for Endoscopy Center of Connecticut
Reports to : Governing Board of Endoscopy Center of Connecticut
Job Overview :
The Administrator is responsible for the performance of the center’s business and operations. This includes the provision of high quality of care, building and sustaining a culture of safety as evidenced by zero harm. The administrator will assure that the center receives top decile patient experience scores. The Administrator will accomplish the above through leading and collaborating with all staff, the members of the Medical Executive Committee, Governing Board and Partners.
Key Areas of Responsibilities, include but not limited to :
- Manages the budget and financial management. In conjunction with the Nurse Administrator optimizes clinical services operations.
- Maintains the facility’s operations in compliance with accrediting body and standards at all times. Including but not limited to the facility’s life safety standards.
- Assures the delivery of high-quality care that addresses the quadruple aim to improve; 1) Healthcare population, 2) Improving the patient experience, 3) Reducing costs, 4) Improving care team well-being.
- Manages operations in order to maintain a lower cost option for the community at large.
Optimize scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation to maximize procedure volume and efficiency.
Coordinate with nursing leadership to optimize staffing strategies to optimize patient care with a cost efficient strategy.Coordinates patients’ care along the continuum.Maintains the competencies and skills of a high performing team in order to drive and sustain zero harm – inclusive of annual education / life safety drills and all regulatory requirementsResponsible for facilitating and ensuring completion of annual Leapfrog submissionCompletion of quality metrics documentation (trending flowsheet)Policies and Procedures consistent with the center’s philosophy are developed, implemented, revised, and reviewed on an annual basis at a minimum, in collaboration with the Governing Body.Demonstrates continuous competency in the business management of the facility :Meets established financial objectives and benchmarks.Utilizes all available information systems effectively to manage the schedule for efficiency.Interacts frequently and regularly with all members of the management and clinical leadership teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellenceProvides case costing information as requested.Supports the Nurse Administrator in his / her daily responsibilities.Lead, mentor, and develop staff to enhance productivity and engagement.Maintains accountability for benchmarking and short / long range planning for the facility to meet all the goals and objectives.Coordinates with building management for the receipt of required life safety reports.Oversee revenue cycle management, including accounts payable, billing, collections, coding compliance, and payer reimbursements / contracts.Responsible for financial review and determination of quarterly distributions and coordinating buy-in and buy-out processes for partners.Provide direct supervision of billing staff and optimize revenue collection strategies. Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to increase profitabilityEstablish, negotiate, and manage insurance company contracts and reimbursement rates with facility as well as physician insurance credentialing.Completes all required local, state, federal, and accreditation reportingImplements and maintains annual strategic business plans that best aid the partnership and the local market forces.Builds, manages and leads the strategic business plans that best serve the partnership and the local marketDevelop and implement marketing strategies to attract new patients and referring physiciansReview and make recommendations to drive the operational and strategic performance of both Hamden and Guilford sites of service related to industry trends and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.Responsible for the center’s P&L, including financial controls and reporting (not limited to) the following areas : The business office, credentialing office, payer contracts and insurance verification, medical records, human resource management and asset management.Responsible for the planning and execution of the Quarterly Governing Board Committee Meeting (scheduling, agendas, pre-reads encompassing centers quality / safety, financial health, operations, facilitation of the meeting, follow ups, reports and meeting minutes)Responsible for partnership and business management related to ECC Investments at other ASC Investments (Bridgeport and Hamden SCA Locations) and to coordinate ECC business / financial plan with ECC Ancillary Services leadership.Requirements and specifications :
Master’s degree in business or healthcare related field.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.At least 5 years in progressive leadership roles.Able to manage the business needs of the center, excellent communicator and able to work with multiple teams to accomplish the strategic vision.Healthcare license if appropriate, Certifications as appropriate.Able to lift and move 50 pounds, able to stand and sit for 2-hour durations.
