POSITION SUMMARY
The Rapid Rehousing High Needs Case Manager assists individuals and families experiencing homelessness, as defined by HUD, to quickly secure and maintain permanent housing. Using a Housing First approach, the Case Manager provides housing-focused case management, connects clients to rental assistance, and links them to community resources. Responsibilities include eligibility assessments, housing stability planning, landlord coordination, and ongoing support to promote long-term self-sufficiency and prevent returns to homelessness. The position will be responsible for providing high needs case management services specifically for housing placement services, temporary financial assistance, conduct harm reduction activities, job placement opportunities and other supportive services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education / Background :
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field or two years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability, particularly those with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and / or substance abuse disorderWorking knowledge of HUD homelessness definitions, housing practices including NV Landlord Tenant Act, Fair Housing, Housing Quality Standards (HQS), and Property ManagementDemonstrates positivity, self-drive, organization, and resourcefulness, upholding a reputation for being both team and client-focused, and ready to offer assistance whenever and wherever required, as evidenced by past actionsMust have an excellent command of computer software programs : Word and database software, and operate fax, copy machine and all office equipment correctly for communication purposesExcellent written and verbal skills in the English language. Bilingual English-Spanish preferredMust be prompt and dependableStrong communication, Organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a teamProficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems (e.g., HMIS preferred)Required to drive a company or personal vehicleMust pass background screening and clearancesCultural competence and ability to work with diverse populationsAbility to maintain order and make effective decisions in crisis situationsAbility and willingness to perform light housekeeping and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds independentlyOnsite : This position requires on-site work, with most of the day spent in the field conducting home visits, delivering rent subsidies, providing transportation to medical appointments, and similar tasks. Remote work may be considered on a limited basis, depending on workload and program needs. Must be approved in advance by Department PM.
