Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Practice

Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, invasive monitoring, and rapid interventions.

Perform comprehensive assessments and respond immediately to changes in patient condition.

Administer medications, titrate drips, manage ventilators, and interpret complex data from monitors and diagnostic tests.

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech EMR.

Emergency Response & Critical Interventions

Participate in Rapid Response, Code Blue, sepsis alerts, stroke alerts, and emergency procedures.

Recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations using ACLS protocols and facility guidelines.

Care Coordination & Collaboration

Work closely with physicians, intensivists, respiratory therapy, and multidisciplinary teams.

Provide clear communication during shift handoff, interdisciplinary rounds, and care conferences.

Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and critical care expectations.

Safety & Compliance

Uphold infection control standards, ICU safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Ensure proper use of alarms, equipment, and medication safety measures.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based ICU bundles (e.g., CAUTI, CLABSI prevention).

Qualifications

Required :

Current, active RN license (state-specific—confirm before start).

Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience in an acute care hospital.

BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).

Ability to work 7p–7a including every other weekend.

Ability to float to units within nursing scope when required.

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Preferred :

Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted).

Experience working in Meditech EMR.

Proficiency with ventilators, CRRT, invasive lines, and titratable drips.

Block scheduling accommodated.

Meditech utilized for charting and medication administration.
