Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Herrin, IL 62948 (Southern Illinois healthcare jobs)

Unit : Med / Surg Adult Unit

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing

Start Date : October 24, 2025

End Date : January 23, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Shift : 12-hour night shifts

RN-to-Patient Ratio : 5 : 1

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Illinois nursing license preferred)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

Current BLS certification

Ability to work 12-hour night shifts

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver patient-centered nursing care to adults in a Med / Surg unit

Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting changes to the healthcare team

Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical support staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document patient care and progress in electronic health records

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
