The role

We’re looking for a product designer who thinks beyond aesthetics. You are passionate about crafting seamless user experiences as you are about beautiful interfaces. You care about building, shipping, and iterating on real products, not just making polished mockups that never see the light of day.

As a Product Designer on our web team, you’ll shape the Eight Sleep website, driving the design of engaging, intuitive, and seamless experiences that help users discover and purchase a Pod. You’ll collaborate with Growth, Brand & Marketing, Product and Engineering to craft high-quality, data-driven designs that balance aesthetics with usability. You should be an exceptional generalist able to move between information architecture, visual design, and interaction patterns, with an eye for both pixel perfection and real-world usability. You’ll have significant ownership over the website experience to help users make informed purchase decisions.

How You’ll Contribute

Design : Lead the creation of our e-commerce experience to drive brand positioning and revenue. Responsibilities span information architecture, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and everything in-between.

Validate : Support usability studies and user interviews to inform design; use data to assess design success or failure.

Iterate : Combine qualitative and quantitative insights to improve the web experience for members and impact conversion and retention.

Communicate : Present work to stakeholders and executives; own design documentation and prepare files for engineering.

Work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver experiences that drive business growth and user value

Help build, document, and organize the UI components of our web design system with the web engineering team

Align with Marketing, Brand, Growth, and Product stakeholders and present design updates to leadership

Remain the subject matter expert for web design patterns and interactions, researching trends and best practices

Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing to ship a world-class web experience

What You Need To Succeed

4+ years of experience in web / e-commerce UX and UI

A portfolio showing high-quality UI / UX work with key web projects

Experience shipping designs to public users with measurable outcomes

Ability to consider technical implications and balance user value with effort

Obsessed with simplicity and strong aesthetics

Independent thinker who can manage the design process end-to-end in ambiguous environments

Passion for user research, from planning to execution

Ability to iterate quickly and often

Confident in writing clear agendas and presenting to executive leadership

Excited to help grow a fast-growing brand into an iconic company

Bachelor’s degree in a related design field or equivalent experience

Bonus Points For

Understanding code or the mechanics behind how components and websites are built

Motion and micro-animation design skills

Experience building iconic, high-growth e-commerce sites at startups
