Training Support Specialist

The Training Support Specialist coordinates, organizes, and executes the administrative details associated with professional development, training, conference, or community awareness programs attended by behavioral health and other professionals, students and the general public. The Training Support Specialist works in a visible and independent role in partnership with state and other funders.
Salary : $50,960
Education and Experience / Qualifications : BA / BS degree or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. Strong computer and organizational skills with a customer service orientation and the ability to function in a team environment are required. Proficient in virtual platforms, including but not limited to Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Able to calmly troubleshoot issues during a virtual live event. The ability to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to accept change is also required. A valid driver's license and personal transportation is needed to meet the traveling aspects of the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Coordinates all aspects of virtual and in-person training events. This may include identifying and contacting qualified trainers / presenters, securing a location, creating the event registration site, managing participant registration, copying training materials, setting up the venue or platform for the training event and professionally troubleshooting issues that may arise.
Meets regularly with state or other funders to review their professional development needs, develops and monitors comprehensive statewide training calendars, event plans, timelines, and other training / conference / event details.
Manages the participant registration and confirmation processes and monitors event enrollment for in-person and virtual live events.
Generates and submits applications for continuing education units from a variety of credentialing organizations, as needed.
Compiles event evaluation forms, processes completed forms, analyzes results, and creates reports.
Creates event materials including flyers, social media content, and solicitation emails to market events and recruit participants.
Collects attendance data and produces attendance and continuing education certificates.
Prepares and submits any regulatory forms, state tax exempt certificates and other documents needed for events, as needed.
Compiles event statistics and creates monthly, quarterly, administrative, and other reports as required by presenters, supervisors, funders, etc.
Promotes the Center for Prevention, Wellness and Recovery at Wheeler Clinic and its activities, including patron support of the Clearinghouse as needed.
Develops and maintains holistic knowledge of populations being served including cultural, ethnic, sexual orientation, gender differences, and differing abilities.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
