Weather / News Anchor — Las Vegas, NV | Full Time

Essential Functions

News Anchor

  • Write, produce, and present accurate balanced daily news stories for the station’s newscast.
  • Research, investigate, write, produce, and anchor general news or special assignments (recorded and / or live from the studio / field).
  • Produce newscasts rundowns.
  • Work closely with the Assignments Editor, Producers, MMJs and all staff to ensure stories are updated and fact checked.
  • Create original content and stories for daily newscasts when applicable.
  • Attend and participate in off-site company-sponsored and community events as assigned by station management.

Weather Anchor

  • Relay the market’s weather forecast and stories in a way that connects with and captivates viewers, and conveys the brand.
  • Produce weather graphics and analyze data from the National Weather Service and other meteorological sources.
  • Create complete coverage of weather stories.
  • Prepare and post forecasts for multiple platforms.
  • Spearhead special weather coverage during severe weather events.

    • Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor?s Degree or a minimum of 2 years’ experience as Weather Forecaster / Meteorologist
  • Experience with severe weather forecasting

    This is a full-time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    Reports directly to VP Of News
