Job Summary :
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complicated laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and reporting of results.
They will also operate and maintain instruments and equipment, develop new procedures, perform phlebotomy, and other patient-oriented tasks.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform all routine and complicated laboratory procedures in the primary section to which assigned
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
Cross-train to other laboratory sections as needed
Calculate, enter, and / or verify results of laboratory procedures
Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values obtained
Process patient specimens, including collection, handling, and distribution
Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocols
Demonstrate competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets population-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience
No experience required for graduates of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by NAACLS or other organizations approved by HHS
One year of approved clinical laboratory experience, including a clinical rotation through various laboratory sections
Must possess Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW / HHS
Louisiana requires State Licensure New Graduate that is Board Certified or eligible
