Summit Malibu is expanding in the fall of 2025 and is currently interviewing for an AMFT, LMFT or LCSW for our substance abuse / mental health program in Malibu.

Primary responsibilities include :

• Knowledge of drug and alcohol dependency, mental health, family systems and 12 step / recovery resources in the community
• Maintain appropriate documentation as required
• Conduct assessments of clients at the time of admission and re-assessments as required
• Conduct mental status examinations
• Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the clients history, signs, and symptoms
• Provide individual, couple / family, and group psychotherapy as needed
• Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff
• Crises intervention services, including 5150 determinations
• Treatment Planning
• Participation in Case Conference Reviews
• Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and related issues
• Knowledge of the philosophy and approach of the 12-step model of recovery (AA, CA, NA, Alanon)
