The Athletic Operations Assistant supports the athletic department's day-to-day operations and assists with game-day activities. This role involves a variety of tasks to help ensure the smooth functioning of the department, including managing equipment, preparing facilities, assisting with event setup and takedown, and providing support to the Athletic Director during home athletic contests.
The Athletic Operations Assistant will help coordinate logistics for athletic events, ensure materials and resources are ready for home games, and assist with administrative duties. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for supporting college athletics. It offers valuable experience in sports management, event coordination, and athletic operations.
Essential Functions :

In-game monitoringLiaison for visiting teams and officialsScoreboard and / or music operationAssist with breakdown and cleanup of game-day facilities and equipmentMaintain inventory and update of athletic equipment and suppliesProvide administrative support to the athletic department, such as data entry, filing and clerical tasksEnsure facilities are prepared for and maintained for weights, practices and competitionsProvide general support for day-to-day activities within the athletic departmentPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills :

Must be a current SMC undergraduate with Federal Work-Study eligibilityAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and some holidaysComfortable lifting and carrying equipment and standing for extended periodsStrong communication skills and team-oriented mindsetAbility to work independently and take initiativeInterest in athletics, event management, or sports administration
