The Assistant Director of Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing our Sanitation Operations within their assigned geography, directly impacting the success of the team, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. This individual will work closely with onsite management, customers, team members, and regulatory agencies to ensure the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and compliance are upheld.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversight : Oversee multiple sites and ensure that all aspects of sanitation operations are running smoothly, including customer relations, team member relations, cleaning procedures, safety, food safety, QA, payroll, staffing, budgets, and billing.Safety and Food Safety Compliance : Collaborate with onsite management, team members, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure Food Safety and Safety guidelines are trained, monitored, enforced, and documented daily. Simultaneously, direct efficiencies across the team.Expense and Payroll Management : Monitor and manage the approval process for expenses including labor, supplies, billing, payroll, and chemicals. Implement corrective action when necessary and consistently seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Reducing operating costs.Labor and Payroll Accuracy : Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of labor hours for payroll on a weekly basis, taking corrective action as needed.People-First Culture : Drive the strategy toward maintaining and improving a People-First culture while ensuring compliance with all internal procedures and policies. Develop team members through training and coaching.Compliance and Regulatory Requirements : Monitor and report on the company's compliance with external customer and government agency requirements, including EEOC, OSHA, and USDA. Communicate any regulatory issues to Corporate Office and ensure documentation is in place.Business Development : Identify new business opportunities within your geographical area by maintaining strong customer relationships, networking at industry events, and staying informed on industry trends.Customer Account Management : Develop and implement action plans for customer accounts and facilities with performance or service issues, and report progress to leadership.Safety Promotion : Recognize and promote adherence to all safety guidelines developed by the company.Operational Efficiency : Continuously identify ways to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency across all aspects of sanitation operations.Leadership : Exhibit strong leadership and problem-solving skills, ensuring that sanitation crews perform effectively and efficiently while solving problems as they arise. Own sanitation meetings when visiting plant. Attendees should include : Quality Assurance ("QA"), Maintenance, Complex Manager, Plant Manager, and Site Manager. Include a notepad to show engagement and take notes. Topics could include staffing, safety / food safety, customer relationship, poor work ethic / culture. Utlize RPM dashboard.Communication : Maintain professional communication with both team members and client team members, ensuring alignment and mutual respect. Partner with HR to determine designated training site, interview applicants for management trainee program, and participate in follow up calls.Strategic Planning : Contribute to strategic planning to improve plant profitability, safety, and food safety. Strategize to identify continuous improvement ideas, grow business with existing plant locations and minimize lost business.Other Duties : Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership.YOUR MUST HAVES :
Must be 18 years of age or older.5 or more years of operations related progressive experience in a food production / sanitation environment, with demonstrated success in overseeing and managing multiple operational units.Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.Working knowledge of government regulations (EPA, USDA, OSHA), safety standards, and best practices sanitation or related industry.Proficient computer skills associated with Microsoft Office and basic skills required to learn new programs.A valid Driver's License.WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE :

This position is based in your home office and requires frequent travel to customer and plant locations which may require the use of PPE including safety glasses, hardhat, ear protection, and / or other protective equipment / clothing. Walking, standing, sitting, and computer work are all required in this environment. Sitting for extended periods of time when traveling (mostly driving) is also required.
