Shop Service Technician 2

Job Summary : This mechanic position is responsible for performing inspections diagnoses and repairs of diesel-powered heavy equipment and / or related equipment or components following established procedures and guidelines. Works independently or as a member of a team to provide mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals.

Entry-level position Generally has two or more years of experience and / or demonstrated job relevant knowledge / skills. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; works under moderate supervision.

Essential Functions :

• Models promotes reinforces and rewards the consistent use of HOLTs Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision Values and Mission
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures
• Disassembles and assembles machine components to manufacturers specifications through the use of hand tools pneumatic tools and any specialized tooling
• Rebuilds repairs reconditions and maintains equipment and components
• Demonstrates good customer relations and support; communicates customer needs to shop management
• Plans and controls cost of repair jobs
• Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return
• Mentors and helps train other technicians
• Maintains all equipment and work areas keeps in good clean and orderly condition
• Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies procedures and standards
• Works overtime as required by workload and customers needs
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; e.g. ProTech Technician Training Paths
• Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned
