As a Quality Controller Shipper Receiver, you will play an important role in ensuring the seamless flow of our products while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. This multifaceted position requires a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of the shipping and receiving process. From inspecting products for quality assurance to efficiently managing inventory and coordinating shipments, you will be integral to the success of our operations. This person may also be required to assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving in the event of any issues or challenges within the warehouse.   • Conduct process and product checks to ensure materials, parts, and products comply with quality standards and requirements.
  • Inspect manufactured parts and products according to plans, orders and / or drawings.
  • Report on non-conforming products including rejects, rework and / or customer returns.
  • Develop and maintain inspection reports, participate in all aspects of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance to company standards and specifications.
  • Maintain calibration of quality control equipment where applicable.
  • Perform inspections across all departments and stages of production as required.
  • Identify areas for quality improvement and implement new methods and procedures accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement Specialist from time to time as required.
  • Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency and accuracy.
  • Conduct inspection of finished products and component completion against works orders and / or drawings, including custom orders and options.
  • Implement and adhere to document control practices to ensure correct plans, specifications, drawings, instructions etc. are available.
  • Conduct record keeping of checked and non-conforming products.
  • Prepares inbound / outbound shipments (sort and stage loading, unloading, packing, verifying, recording incoming / outgoing merchandise, and arranging for the transportation of merchandise)
  • Perform Cycle Counts as required.
  • Support and maintain a 6S working environment.
  • General movement of equipment, inventory, WIP, finished goods and stock around the plant.
  • Other jobs as assigned.

Required Skills :

  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong technical skills.
  • Good understanding of test equipment and quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • 5+ years in quality or inspection role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Understand and interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Familiar and capable with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and apply problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Valid Lift truck license required.
  • Ability to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information.
  • Experience with 3rd party shipping methodologies (FedEx, UPS, freight scheduling and shipping, etc.) is a plus.
  • Must be customer service oriented and maintain a positive, professional relationship with all personnel at all times.
  • Health and Safety Responsibilities :

  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the OSHA, regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Using or wearing the equipment, PPE that Blue Giant requires.
  • Reporting to his or her supervisor any contravention of the OSHA, regulations, or Blue Giant policies and procedures.
  • Reporting any observed hazards to the supervisor.
  • Reporting any risks or potential risks of violence or harassment encountered in the workplace immediately to supervisor.
  • Not removing or making ineffective any protective device without providing an adequate temporary substitute. When the work is completed, the original protective device must be replaced immediately.
  • Not using or operating any equipment, machine, device or thing or otherwise working in a manner that may endanger anyone.
  • Knowing, understanding and implementing safe work practices and procedures.
  • Attend all required Health and Safety training programs (ex : WHMIS, orientation), and applying knowledge to daily operating procedures at Blue Giant.
  • Education :

  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
