Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a nursing home or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service. This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and serving of food to residents, ensuring that dietary restrictions and preferences are adhered to.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, following all food safety guidelines.
• Support the dietary team in planning menus that meet nutritional standards and resident needs.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with residents during meal times.
• Help with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies appropriately.
• Participate in training sessions related to dietetics, food safety, and kitchen operations as required.
• Report any concerns regarding resident dietary needs or kitchen operations to the supervisor promptly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in a similar role within a nursing home, assisted living facility, or hospital is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic nutrition principles and dietary restrictions is an asset.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for meal preparation.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor towards residents and staff alike.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional training in dietetics or culinary arts is a plus.
