Director of Financial Management
The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish. The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) supports youth and community services through contracts with a broad network of community-based organizations throughout New York City. Our central task is administering available city, state, and federal funds to a wide range of innovative, practical, and quality programs that positively impact youth and communities. DYCD is seeking to hire a Director of Financial Management within the Bureau of Budget and Finance. This position will report to the Senior Director of Financial Management. The Director should be a results-oriented individual who is a highly motivated, a self-starter, and possesses excellent managerial, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Minimum Qualifications
1. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health. To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have :
Preferred Skills
The candidate should have related budget / financial experience, including a working knowledge of New York City budget cycles and operating procedures. Extensive proficiency in Excel is required (SUMIFS, MATCH, VLOOKUP, INDEX, PIVOT TABLES, Nested Formulas, etc.). Experience reviewing and reconciling complex financial data from multiple sources is required to succeed in this position. Experience with NYC's Financial Management System and PASSPort is preferred. Strong analytical skills will be considered a preferred asset. Extensive staff management experience. The candidate should have experience and understanding of NYC's revenue processes.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
