JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Emergency Department director manager, charge nurse, and staff nurses this position requires the ability to be self-directed and encompasses providing direct supportive care to patients by performing designated and/or ordered interventions and procedures within the scope of practice. Additionally, this position incorporates departmental readiness duties including but not limited to stocking, QI testing, verification of operational patient care apparatuses (Suction, O2, .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: The emergency room (ED) technician is an individual with training and/or experience in the area of unlicensed assistive caregiver in the emergency room environment.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing, prioritizing, and completing work assignments and other duties as assigned. Above average computer skills.
License and Certifications: Current and active certification as an emergency medical technician (EMT), national registry emergency medical technician (NR-EMT), nursing assistant (CNA), Valid CA state driver’s license. Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required. Workplace Violence AB508/SB1299 Training required within six months of hire or transfer.
Equipment: Computer, Monitoring Equipment, POC Testing Equipment.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
PAY RANGE
$21.00 - $29.12
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
