Sr. Performance Engineer
Position Overview
PrideStaff Atlanta North is seeking a highly skilled and driven Sr. Performance Engineer to join our Engineering Group in Roswell, GA. This position is responsible for technical ownership of engine performance across the portfolio. You will serve as the subject matter expert on engine performance modeling and analysis, supporting both internal engineering initiatives and external business development opportunities. This role combines deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration to ensure optimal engine performance for a variety of aerospace applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for engine performance, including ownership of thermodynamic cycle decks and analysis tools.
- Develop, maintain, and improve processes and tools for evaluating performance under a range of operating conditions.
- Support new customer applications by assessing engine performance and installation effects.
- Conduct performance assessments in the Test Cell and troubleshoot issues as needed, tracking metrics such as first-pass yield.
- Develop and execute propulsion system test plans, including sea-level static and altitude-simulated testing.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret operational and performance data, providing concise, actionable recommendations.
- Create visualization tools to support performance evaluation and data review.
- Contribute to the design and modification of turbomachinery components, including product definition, analysis, manufacturing, and testing.
- Assist Engineering Leadership in building the Technology Roadmap to ensure stays at the forefront of propulsion system innovation.
Requirements and Work Environment
Due to the nature of business as a defense contractor, this position is limited to U.S. citizens, as defined under applicable federal regulations.Onsite in Roswell, GA.Minimal travel (Work may include time in office, test facilities, and production environments.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline (advanced degree a plus).7+ years of industry experience in gas turbines, including 5+ years in performance modeling and programming.Proficiency in NPSS (preferred), GasTurb, or similar modeling tools.Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, and C / C++.Knowledge of drafting best practices and GD&T (ASME standards).Deep understanding of turbomachinery physics, performance, operation, and typical failure modes.Proven ability to validate engine performance using both analytical tools and empirical data.Strong written and verbal communication, multitasking, and analytical skills.High-energy, collaborative problem solver with a passion for innovation.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with defense industry standards and MIL-STD compliance.Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).Knowledge of digital engineering tools such as Digital Twin Technology, AI, IoT, and predictive analytics.Benefits
