Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing multi-story, multi-unit commercial projects, with at least 4 years of relevant project management experience . This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Oversee the work of field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and quality project execution.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders throughout all phases of construction.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, RFIs, change orders, and cost reports.
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage project budgets and monitor job costs to ensure profitability.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and resolve issues.
- Lead project meetings and provide updates to internal teams and clients.
Requirements :
Minimum of 4 years of project management experience in commercial construction , specifically with multi-story and multi-unit developments.Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and safety standards.Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.).Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).Ability to work on-site in Birmingham, AL, and travel to project locations as needed.
