What We Need :
We are looking for a Project Engineer II to support all phases of commercial construction projects in the healthcare, lab, life science and corporate interior sectors from preconstruction and estimating through closeout. This role will manage documentation and financials in Procore, coordinate RFIs, submittals, and procurement, and ensure clear communication with project teams and trade partners. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of project engineering experience, strong technical and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do : Responsibilities :
- Understanding estimating processes & practices
- Construction document review - thorough understanding of drawings and documents
- Maintain a positive, proactive attitude
- Clear, direct, consistent verbal and written communication with trade partners, project partners, and project team
- Site coverage for superintendents as needed
Technical Skills :
Assist with set up of project folders & template documentsAssist with permit processExperience with preconstruction and estimating processesSet up new projects in ProcoreCreate electronic Superintendent Binder in ProcoreManage MSA / work order process once values and scopes are approved by PM & Team LeadCreate OAC agendas - reviewed by PMCreate project progress photo report for OACsDocument OAC meeting minutesManage submittal process - with PM oversightCreate and manage procurement log - make phone calls to trade partners weekly and twice / week to check status of products, followed by email documentationAssist with RFIsData entry into ProcoreNew vendor setup : ensure new vendor data is entered in MSA tracking sheet and follow up with Operations for modified MSA documents when requiredSend monthly % complete request / COR log to trade partners for pencils by 8th of each month with hard deadline for acknowledgement & responseCreate commitments and COs in ProcoreReconcile financials in Procore each month prior to pencil submission to AccountingManage Day 2 items with oversight from Team LeadManage closeout documentation in Procore and distribution to OwnerAssist with punch list documentation - iPad management on site during punchFull ability to manage financial masterFull understanding of pencil draw and pay application processDevelop accurate project schedulesWhat You'll Bring :
Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in commercial interior constructionExperience in preconstruction and estimating requiredDegree in construction management, architecture, or project management preferredProficient in managing RFIs, submittals, insurance and contract administration, and document coordination.Strong technical skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and organizational skill with high attention to detail and accuracyHigh level of engagement and empathy-centered people management skillsCompensation & Benefits :
