Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Polson, Montana (59860) – Montana nursing jobs

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1950 - $2090

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nurse contract

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 16, 2026

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts / week

Hours per Week : 36

Facility Type : Critical Access Hospital, LDRP Unit

Patient Population : Neonates, Infants, Adults

Charting System : Epic (preferred experience)

Scrub Color : Any (OR scrubs provided)

Parking : Free on-site parking

Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications

Current and active Montana or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at time of application)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a U.S. hospital

Certifications : BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required; CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) and STABLE preferred

Fetal monitoring competency required

Experience with Epic electronic medical records preferred

Ability to circulate for C-sections, perform sterile vaginal exams, and triage obstetrical patients

Willingness to float within the facility as needed (no patient assignments outside L&D)

Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers, newborns, and postpartum patients in a LDRP setting

Circulate for C-sections and assist with obstetric procedures

Perform triage of obstetrical patients and conduct sterile vaginal exams

Monitor fetal well-being using advanced and wireless fetal monitoring technology

Respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies; participate in rapid response teams

Float to assist other hospital units when L&D census is low (no patient assignments outside L&D)

Participate in weekend and on-call rotations (every third to every other weekend; on-call max once per pay period)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services

Document all patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic
