Description :
SSI is seeking a mid-level Network Support Engineer to support a contract bid for work awarded in 2026. The Network Support Engineer will support WAN functions by providing skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies to the Wide Area Network. Must hold an active Secret clearance and be willing to work onsite.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Analyzes and develops telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video, and / or wireless services
- Assists in the development of plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion
- Analyzes the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported
- Defines the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications
- Closely coordinates with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services
- In conjunction with functional users, develops alternative solutions and backup plans
- May be required to work some night and weekends to meet customer deadlines
Requirements :
5 years of experience in Telecommunications to include 3 years of LAN and WAN experience, with Cisco and Brocade hardwareExperience with Routing and traffic shaping protocols BGP, MPLS, OSPF and F5 BigIPExperience using Remote Access VPN, Site to Site VPN, DMVPN, Pulse Secure SSL VPNDemonstrated experience with Quality of Service (QoS) and IPV6 implementationExperience with the following types of technologies : 802.1x and MAB endpoint authentication, DNS, TACACS+, Radius, Netscout, InfiniStream, NGeniousOne, Great Bay Beacon Server, Cisco ACS, InfoBlox Grid ManagerExperience with network monitoring tools such as : Solarwinds / Orion, Red Seal, Concord eHealth, HPE Network Node Manager and AutomationActive Secret ClearanceMust have DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant IA and CE certifications such as : (IA) Security+, and CCNA
