Qualifications for Activities Assistant:

• Must be able to read, write and speak English

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience and demonstrated interest in working with seniors preferred

• Must be able to work hours/rotation as described above

Responsibilities for Activities Assistant:

• Assists in developing and carrying out recreational programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events to meet the needs of residents

• Supports, encourages, and motivates residents to attend activities

• Transports residents to and from activities as needed

• Accompanies resident to special events and trips outside the facility

• Facilitates the activity and is always aware of all residents

• Cleans up after each activity and readies for the next activity

• Assembles, dismantles, and stores equipment and supplies used in the recreation program

• Communicates with families as necessary and encourages their involvement
